As a Member of Spector Gadon Rosen Vinci P.C. and Chair of the Bankruptcy & Creditors Rights Group with over 35 years of experience, Leslie Beth Baskin represents creditors and debtors in non-bankruptcy work-outs and in consumer and commercial bankruptcy proceedings. She is also a seasoned commercial litigator.

Ms. Baskin has handled a wide array of commercial, transactional, and bankruptcy-related matters including several high profile cases in the region. She recently served as both Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustee for a three-year period in the high profile case of the Legal Coverage Group whose principal embezzled $35 million from the Company. She also has represented Peter Nero and the Philly Pops in the Philadelphia Orchestra Bankruptcy, and numerous debtors/creditors in healthcare Chapter 11 proceedings. She has also represented a diverse group of clients, including banks, real estate enterprises, healthcare providers, small businesses and individuals experiencing financial problems.

Further, she held the position of Chapter 11 Trustee in the Gary Heidnik bankruptcy case, a matter in which Heidnik sought bankruptcy protection against lawsuits that were filed by the families of the victims he was accused of kidnapping, assaulting and/or murdering.

Ms. Baskin also served as a Chapter 7 Trustee on the Panel of Interim Trustees for the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Baskin is currently on the Board of Directors of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project (CBAP) and was its Chair for two years. She was Chair of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference. She has been elected by her peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for many years, and also won the 2005 Award for Outstanding Volunteer for CBAP. She is also one of the founding members of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and was its chair for a two-year term. She is currently serving on its board of directors.

Ms. Baskin was selected to receive the prestigious David T. Sykes Award from the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference and the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. The Award was presented to Baskin at the 30th Annual Forum of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference in January 2019. This award is given to an individual who embodies the qualities exemplified by Sykes, a founding member of both organizations. They include excellence and integrity as a bankruptcy attorney, unsurpassed professionalism, courtesy to and respect for all, and unwavering dedication to the bankruptcy community and the less fortunate in Philadelphia. Ms. Baskin was most recently selected as a 2023 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, and was selected to Lawdragons inaugural list of the 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers. She has taken full advantage of various hands-on teaching, speaking and writing opportunities. Prior to joining Spector Gadon Rosen Vinci P.C., Ms. Baskin was a shareholder with Ciardi & DiDonato, P.C., Rubin Quinn Moss & Patterson, and Gratz, Tate, Spiegel, Ervin & Ruthrauff. She began her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Lynne M. Abraham, Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia.

Ms. Baskin is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Bar, the New York State Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
